Director of Music - Dorothy Brown
Dorothy Brown has been the director of music at St. Andrew's since 2003. Dorothy graduated from Lamont School of Music and retired from Nazarene Bible college in 2002, where she was a professor of music for 32 years. She was honored with the status of Faculty Emeritus in 2005, and continued as Adjunct Faculty until 2008. She has been involved with choirs in churches in the area during this time frame. Dorothy was both a soloist and a speaker for the Christian Women's Clubs of Colorado.
St. Andrew's has always be a very musical church, but the music has evolved over time. We include a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary music. There is a small choir that leads the musical worship on Sundays. The choir practices at 9:30 am on Tuesday mornings and again just before church on Sundays at 9 am. We are always looking for new voices or individuals who play instruments to add to the worship, so if you love to worship the Lord in song, we would love to have you join us.
The pipe organ at St. Andrews dates from 1909 when it was converted from a manual pump organ to electric operation and installed in the church. The organ is played during religious holidays, at concerts and on special occasions
